Up for sale is a seldom used Sony Handycam DCR-VX2100 that was purchased in the mid 2000s to record government meetings for about 6 years. The meetings occurred 35 - 40 times a year with the average meeting length about an hour. I believe it is safe to say that there are fewer than 300 hours of use on this camera. In addition, the camera was always mounted to a tripod so very little handling took place.
The camera is really like new. It is clean and shows no significant nicks or scratches. When I pulled it out to create this listing, I let it charge for several hours, fired it up and it works just like old times. I made a short video with the camera and posted the link below. That sounds simple but…. I am not as steady holding the camera as I once was and I had to find my old Mac Mini so I could download the video via FireWire! What a flashback! I was pleased to see there are adapters to make it work on current computers.
Included in this sale are all the extras that came in the box when new, plus an extra Sony brand battery (never used or needed), a Sony brand wide angle lens model VCL-HG0758 and the Pelican 1500 carrying case shown in the photos.
